1. ​Lieutenant General AK Choudhary, Param Vishist Seva Medal,
Bar to Ativishist seva medal, Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, was commissioned in the Indian Army in the year 1974 and retired after a distinguished service of 40 years in Jan 2014. The General Officer is a graduate from the Defence Services Staff College and holds a degree of MSc in Military Science from Madras University and also Management graduate from College of Defence Management Secundarabad where he also achieved the Master of Management Studies degree from Osmania University.
2. ​The General Officer has had a distinguished career, in both command and staff assignments. He was commissioned into the Infantry. General Choudhary has held various Command, Staff and Instructional appointments in his long and illustrious career, with a vast operational and administrative experience particularly in North Eastern states and Jammu & Kashmir. He has the distinction of Commanding a combat unit in Jammu & Kashmir and Manipur, Brigade sized force in Jammu & Kashmir and a Division Sized Force in Manipur. The General Officer has commanded a Corps in the Western theatre prior to being appointed as Director General of Military Operations at Army Headquarters. General Choudhary was also the General Officer Commanding Bengal Area and Chairman of Army Institute of Management, Kolkata besides being Patron of a
no of institutions. Besides his important staff tenures at various levels, he has held the prestigious appointment of Colonel General Staff of a Mountain Division, Deputy Director General of Military Operations and Additional Director General of Military Intelligence at Army Headquarters. He has also been an instructor at the Senior Command Wing at Army War College, Mhow.
3. ​During his distinguished command in the Army he has first-hand experience of planning and execution of Joint Operations at National level, Advisor on promulgation of strategy on international cooperation and security related issues, National Disaster Management Policies, Employment and deployment of strategic assets. He has also led a no of delegations at National and Army level and has had the privilege of addressing a number of conferences, seminars and management institutions. He has also been the Chairman of Army Institute of Management. He also has the distinction of being advisor to a renowned Central University and trustee of a few institutions.
4. After retirement he has settled down in Patna. Presently besides being Advisor to some corporate houses, he has been nominated by the Government of India as a Financial Advisor to JNU. He is the President of Forum for Awareness on National Security,Patna Chapter.He is also a trustee of Mahavir Sthan Nyas Samiti Patna and Gyan Niketan Patna.
