Lt Gen V K Chaturvedi is an alumni of National Defence Academy and Indian Military Academy. He was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery on 13 June 1971. Immediately on commissioning and after undergoing a curtailed Young Officers Course, he was posted to 99 Field Regiment in the Eastern Sector. He fought the 1971 Indo-Pak war and was awarded the Sena Medal for gallantry. He commanded 99 Field Regiment (Sylhet) during "Op Rakshak" in J&K and an Artillery Brigade in Strike Corps during "Op Parakram" in deserts. He accomplished himself well on all important course, to include Long Gunnery Course, Defence Services Staff College, Senior Command Course, Higher Defence Management Course and the most prestigious National Defence College Course. He has held all the coveted staff and command assignment to include GSO-2 (General Staff Officer Grade-2) at Military Operations Directorate, Colonel Administration of a division in the deserts, Director at Weapons and Equipment Directorate in Army Headquarters, Brigadier Administration of the then the largest Corps of the army in J&K, Additional Director General (Operation and Training) of Artillery where he spearheaded the artillery modernisation. He was thereafter, the Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor of the School of Artillery and finally was Director General Manpower Planning and Personnel Services at Army Headquarters. The officer was awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) in 2011 for distinguished services of highest order by the President of India, the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) for distinguished service of exceptional order by the President of India in 2007 and the Sena Medal gallantry during the 1971 war. He was also given commendation by the Chief of Army Staff and Army Commander on two occasions. The officer is (a) Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) from Madras University in "Strategic Studies and International Affairs", (b) Master of Science form Madras University in "Defence Studies" and (c) Master of Management Studies from Osmania University. The officer also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in "Business Management" from Pune University. Post retirement, the officer was Advisor Defence Banking with the State Bank of India / SBI Life for 5 years from June 2011 to May 2016. Presently, the officer is a Consultant in Defence Matters and Guest Lecturer at premium institutes like Indian Institute Of Science, Delhi University, South Asia Study Centre, JNU, ARSP(ANTAR RASHTRIYA SAHYOG PARISHAD)and many other Institutions and Colleges in the country. General Chaturvedi takes keen interest in personal and professional issues concerning military personnel. He handled the 6CPC, and has been responsible for initiating a number of initiatives for welfare of all ranks.

The General after his initial education at Lucknow joined Indian Army in 1974.
He did his B Tech in mechanical engineering from College of Military Engineering Pune, MTech from IIT Chennai, Masters in Management from Osmania University, Hyderabad and MPhil from Madras University.
He has also done basic (graduation) and advanced Courses (Post Graduation) in Rowing Coaching from Shanghai and Italy respectively. He is a trained Interviewing Officer having done his course from Defence Institute of Psychological Research Delhi. He is also a trained scuba diver and a trained mountaineer who has done his special advances course from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering.
In his illustrious service to nation for over 38 years he served in various appointments in Army and Corps of Engineers. The important assignments included; Garrison Engineer Command of an Engineer Regiment, command of an Engineer Training Centre (among other responsibilities he was responsible for skill development of recruits and trade training of serving soldiers), Chief Engineer of a Command Theatre, professor of Strategic management, Chief of Staff of a Tri- Service Command , Assistant Chief of the Integrated Defence Staff in Defence Intelligence Agency and Additional Director General Personnel. Among his teaching assignment he was assistant professor of mechanical engineering at College of Military Engineering, Pune and Professor of Strategic Management at CDM Pune.
During his service for his outstanding services he was decorated four times; twice by the President of India, once by the Chief of Army Staff and once by the Army Commander Central Army.
After a distinguished career spanning for 38 and half year he retired on 31 Jul 2012.
An Outstanding sports man he was a national Champion twice and also represented Country in the World Championship. Later he was national coach and India won her first Gold medal in Asian Championship under his tutelage. He has also been chairman of organising committee of a number of National Rowing events
Post retirement he is active in writing and lecturing. He has a number of books to his credit. His areas of interest are national security, energy security, water security, value based leadership and disaster management. Among others, his important writings include; ‘Water a Source of Future Conflicts’, ‘Role of Pakistan in India’s Energy Security’, ‘Nuclear Energy in India’s Energy Security Matrix’, ‘Small Hydro in Energy Security Matrix’ and Disaster Management’. He has also been a recipient of Rashtriya Atal Award for Military Engineering in 2020. He is a guest speaker at Chitkara University Baddi, Shoolini University Nahan, Gorakhpur University, Lucknow University, SAGE University Bhopal, Mody University Lakshman Garh, Harish Chandra Mathur Centre for Continuous Education Bikaner, Uttar Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority Lucknow, Centurian Defence Academy Lucknow, NIRMAN IAS at Delhi and Vaid ICS Lucknow.
He has also been the Director General of The College Of Engineering Roorkee and COER School of Management and also advisor HR to RGIPT Jais ( an institution designated by an act of Parliament as a Centre of Excellence).
Presently he is vice chairman of a Think Tank STRIVE at Lucknow, besides being an active member / senior fellow of a number of other Think Tanks.

Brig (Dr) Bhuwnesh Chaudhary is an accomplished medical professional having keen interest towards
the cause of social service and nationalistic awakening. He has done his medical graduation from BRD
Medical College, Gorakhpur, completed his MD in Community Medicine from BJ Medical College,
Ahmedabad and MBA in Hospital Administration from Subharti University, Meerut. He retired from
Army Medical Corps in the rank of Brigadier after completing a distinguished service of more than 32
years and 6 months. During the Army service some of his notable assignments were Instructional Staff
at Officers Training School of AMC Centre & School, Lucknow; Operational duties in Op-Pawan (Sri-Lanka); Op-Parakram in Punjab (Firozpur); worked as Commandant/ Commanding Officer of 5
different Military Hospitals with number of beds ranging from 75 to 500. Post retirement he has
worked as faculty in the department of Community Medicine in two private medical colleges in
Rajasthan and UP respectively. Presently he is fully committed to the cause of welfare of Armed Forces
veterans and is working as President of Braj Prant unit (consisting of 12 districts of UP) of Akhil Bhartiya
Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad (ABPSSP) which is an ESM organization recognized by the central
government and is affiliated with Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh . He is a keen reader, an orator and a
writer as well a lover of Matrabhasha Hindi. He has published his first book ‘Bharat Nirman mein
Nariyon ka Yogdan’ in Hindi, which was released on 13 November 2021 during the Silver Jubilee

Brig Dr Bhuwnesh Chaudhary is presently working as faculty in the subjects of Hospital Quality and
Hospital Management at Academy of Hospital Administration, Noida (UP) as well as an Accredited
National Assessor in Hospital Quality with National Health Resource System Centre (NHSRC), New
Delhi under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India. He is also a member of the Appeal
Committee of the same organization.

Commodore Naresh Kumar has served the Indian Navy for 33 years. He did his BE
in electrical from REC Srinagar and M Tech in underwater electronics from IIT
Delhi and was a team member of the first Indigenous Sonar development project
at DRDO laboratory at NPOL. He served as Director of Electrical Engineering,
Director of Weapons and equipment and Director Information technology at Naval
Headquarters. He was also Director of System Integration at the Navy’s prestigious
organization Weapons Electronics and systems Engineering Establishment
(WESEE) and involved in the Navy’s first Indigenous Command and Control
System for network centric operations in ships. Trained for two years in Italy for
real-time embedded systems, he was associated with many Indigenous
development projects. He has served in Naval Dockyards at Mumbai and Vizag as
General Manager Technical. He took premature retirement in 2006 and joined as
Director Technical of the HSL Vizag. After retirement as CMD HSL in 2010, he
served in Pipavav and Reliance Defense and as Senior Executive Vice President to
set up joint ventures with global majors. He joined IIT Jammu as OSD in 2017 and
is currently helping IIT to connect with DRDO and Industry to promote research
projects .His Core areas of interest are Network Centric Warfare, secure
communication networks, underwater systems, shipbuilding and repairs.

Born in Srinagar, Kashmir, he Completed his B.Sc. Elect. Engg, (1969) M. Tech (1971) and Ph.D.(1983) at ITBHU and joined as faculty in IT-BHU in Dec. 1971 and became Reader (1978) and Professor of Electronics Engineering (1985) and was Director Computer Centre, BHU, Chairman, Telecom Services Committee BHU and President, IT Gymkhana. Since his student days he was active in the Engineering Model making activity and learnt how theoretical knowledge is applied to solve real world problems, he honed his engineering skills and translated many ideas into active products that have won him many awards, prizes and one US patent. As faculty he established Communication Systems Lab (1973), Optical Communication Lab (1978), Digital Communication Lab (1979) and was also instrumental in starting the M.Tech. program (1979) in Communication Systems Engineering at ITBHU. He has completed six R&D projects for DAE, AICTE, DRDO, MIT and ISRO as principal investigator. He has contributed variously to electronic product designs, technology reviews and helped many Govt. & private industries solve complex technical challenges. He has been Advisor to DRDO for EW project Samyukhta, SWD Radio and Cognitive Radio, FH Network System etc. Prof. Kak was Director of Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, NOIDA from Jan 2003 till Feb 2006. He has been an Independent Director on the BSNL Board from Feb 2008 till Feb 2011. He was appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Choudhry Charan Singh University, Meerut, 2008 and then VC of Mahamaya Technical University, Noida in 2010, where from he retired in Nov. 2013. He then joined the Jaypee University of Information Technology, Solan as VC in March 2014 which he left in May 2015 and is now working as a freelancer since then for promoting life & professional skills development using innovative techniques for training and certification. He has published 41 papers in both National and International Journals and delivered over 150 invited talks, guest lectures and special seminars on various topics related to Communication Systems, Engineering Education and Life Skills to audiences from Research organizations and Industrial experts. Dr. Shamsher Jamadagni is serving as Joint Commissioner in the Uttar Pradesh Government. He has qualified B.A.(Hons.), M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Delhi.
