Prof.Parimal Ch Bhattacharjee, is the former Professor and head,
Department of Zoology, Gauhati University, Assam. He graduated
from St Edmund's college and completed Masters and Ph.D from
Gauhati University. With a long PG teaching and research of 40 years
established the Pg course of Animal Ecology and Wildlife - in Gauhati
University, which was first in North east India. He has completed 25
research projects on primates, endangered birds, wetland and
grassland ecology. He has guided 30 Ph.D scholars from Gauhati
University and also other Universities of India.
He is the member of IUCN- Primate SSC, State Wildlife Board,
Biodiversity Board, wetland authority of Assam. He was also a
member of National Biodiversity Authority (NBA). He was visitor's
Nominee in different Universities of India. He was also consultant in
Biodiversity and wildlife sector of infra structure development
project funded by World Bank(WB) and Asian Development Bank
(ADB). He was awarded life time achievements award from the
Government of Assam for his contribution in Biodiversity and
wildlife conservation. He was also the Trustee and Vice chairman of
Wildlife Trust of India (WTI), now emeritus Trustee of WTI.

Served as a commissioned Indian Army Officer for four decades.
10.5 years in NE States in Counter Insurgency Operations.
6.5 years in J&K Counter Insurgency Operations.
Participated in the ‘Operation Vijay’ of Kargil War and ‘Operation Parakram’.
Retired as Colonel from Indian Army on 31st January 2008.

10 years in Gujarat including deputation with Govt of Gujarat as NCC Commanding Officer.

Chairman, Indian Soccer Futsal Federation (ISFF) and All Assam Soccer Futsal Association (AASFA).
